SMS Widget

Since buying my Treo early in 2005, I’ve missed the ability to send SMS messages from my Mac. I’ve never been able to connect Address Book to my Treo. Apparently, this is due to the fact that the Treo needs to be in dial-up networking mode in order to accomplish constant connections with a computer. Since this means you can’t make or receive phone calls while the Treo is in this mode, I gave up trying.

I just stumbled across a Dashboard Widget (a what?!) that assumes the old functionality.

Brilliant!

Red Sox send Papi home with recurrence of heart issue

It seems like I’m covering a lot of this in my blog lately, which is certainly not good. It looks like David Ortiz is having some heart-related issues that are forcing him to leave the team for a while. My thoughts are with him and his family. Get well soon, Papi!!!

Unknown ailment could derail Mets’ Glavine

Oh man, this is a bummer. Tom Glavine has always been one of my favorite guys in baseball, even if he does play in New York.

Glavine pitched for the Braves in one of the first Major League Baseball games I ever saw in person (vs. the Giants at Candlestick/3com). If memory serves, he gave up something like 2 hits in 8 innings – an absolute gem. And who can forget his 8-inning one-hitter in game 6 of the 1995 World Series? In his ironically-titled autobiography (None but the Braves), he portrays a very human side to professional athletes. I highly recommend reading this book.

I wish him the best, and I hope to see him pitch again.

**UPDATE**
It appears that surgery will not be necessary. *whew*

Your e-mail inbox is a metaphor for your life

I freely admit it… I’m extremely anal about my email inbox. Nothing lives in there long, and the ones that are in there are only there because I haven’t figured out what action is needed.

I came across this article this morning, and thought it was a decent read. Enjoy!

New model shoot pics online

I had the pleasure of shooting portraits of Karlee Meng on Friday, August 6th, 2006. Heather Yarnell handled the hair and makeup, and Karlee was wonderful to work with. Check out her great photos here.

Humor on a bumper

Saw a couple of hilarious bumper stickers on a car in front of me on the way home tonight.

1) Honk if you love Hanson. Then drive your car into a tree.

2) Robots will kill you.

LOLs….
